NOTE:  Wilson Preparatory Academy is currently recruiting for several positions.  We have now begun recruiting for  K-5 teachers, 6-11 Core Teachers, Specials Teachers, Counselor, etc.  Other positions will be posted as they come available.

Roles and Responsibilities of K-5 Teachers:

  • Lead morning meetings in classroom
  • Teach grade level Common Core subject material
  • Participate in weekly collaborative grade level planning sessions
  • Responsible for working with grade levels in a “blended learning” environment
  • Assist in the development of grade level weekly assessments as well as lesson plans
  • Able to maintain classroom management independently
  • Manage lunch/recess for their class 2-3 times per week

(Teacher Assistant)

  • Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts records
  • Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
  • Type, file, and duplicate materials
  • Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeteria, school yard, and gymnasium, or on field trips
  • Participate in teacher-parent conferences regarding students’ progress or problems.
  • Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
  • Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods
